Williamsburg Violet Oil Colors
Quinacridone Violet
#785 Quinacridone Violet
Quinacridone - PV19
Transparent / Lightfast Rating 1 - Excellent

An intense, exotic, blue relative of Quinacridone Red. Hot, hot magenta, like a lurid peony. Great clarity in mixing and glazing.

Persian Rose
#714 Persian Rose
Quinacridone - PV19 | Dipyrrolopyrrol PO73
Zinc Oxide - PW4
Opaque / Lightfast Rating 1 - Excellent

A rich, intense color with extremely good covering power. Like an old world rose with a slight cool, bluish glow, but with a heart of orange.

Dianthus Pink
#724 Dianthus Pink
Zinc Oxide - PW7 | Quinacridone - PV19
Semi-Opaque / Lightfast Rating 1 - Excellent

A true, clear pink with absolutely no yellow or orange. Inspired by Rembrandt's "Lady With a Pink". Our energetic manager likens it to the Pink Panther. Mixes cleanly. Does not muddy up.

Ultramarine Pink
#774 Ultramarine Pink
Sodium Aluminum Sulfo-Sulicate - PV15
Transparent / Lightfast Rating 1 - Excellent
A beautiful transparent, limpid pink. Like all ultramarines this leans toward blue--but very slightly--not enough to be violet. Very close in feel to original Rose Madder, but more delicate. Imagine a very rich rose quality with a slight blush of pale amethyst.

Cobalt Violet Light (Reddish)
#728 Cobalt Violet Light
Cobalt Ammonium Phosphate - PV49
Transparent / Lightfast Rating 1 - Excellent
Ethereal, delicate, sublime. Not a strong tinter.

Cobalt Violet Deep

#748 Cobalt Violet Deep
Cobalt Phosphate - PV14
Semi-Transparent / Lightfast Rating 1 - Excellent
Richer, Bluer, and stronger than the Violet Light with a beautiful, deep, opaque glow.

Provence Violet Reddish
#734 Provence Violet Reddish
Zinc Oxide - PW7
Quinacridone - PV19
Opaque / Lightfast Rating 1 - Excellent

Redder than Manganese Violet. Very close to Cobalt Violet Light but extremely opaque with good covering power.

Provence Violet Bluish
#754 Provence Violet Bluish
Zinc Oxide - PW7
Carbazole Dioxazine - PV23
Opaque / Lightfast Rating 1 - Excellent

Very close to Cobalt Violet Deep, but so luminous that it's almost electric. Strong and beautiful.

Manganese Violet
#704 Manganese Violet
Manganese Ammonium Phosphate - PV16
Semi-Opaque / Lightfast Rating 1 - Excellent

This violet is a substantial rather heavy, earth loud violet - not subtle like the ethereal, limpid cobalts. Some companies call this mineral violet reddish.

Ultramarine Violet (Transparent)
#764 Ultramarine Violet
Sodium Aluminum Sulfosilicate - PV15
Transparent / Lightfast Rating 1 - Excellent
Beautiful, natural-looking violet. Does not look synthetic in any way. Its only limitation is that it is an extremely weak tinter. Its beauty is properly seen in glazes.

Egyptian Violet
#805 Egyptian Violet
Carbazol Dioxazine - PV23
Semi-Opaque / Lightfast Rating 1 - Excellent

Intense, royal violet. Very deep, very strong tinting (like Phthalo). An unusually rare color. Like Tyrian Purple.
