German Earth
Synthetic Iron Oxide - PBlk11
Opaque / Lightfast Rating 1 - Excellent
This is one of the most versatile blacks we have encountered.
When used straight it's very much like a traditional Cassell
Earth or Van Dyke Brown, but when white is added it cools
down and becomes bluish - almost moonstone - like. Dries
with a soft matte surface. |

Slate
Black (Davy's Grey Extra Deep)
Powdered Slate - PBlk19
Semi-Opaque / Lightfast Rating 1 - Excellent
Like our Davy's Grey, we make this from pure powdered slate.
A rich, warm black. If you like our Black Roman Earth or
Van Dyke Brown, then try this one. Unlike most other blacks,
this one is subtle and not over-powering or heavy. |
